Buying Coordinator Placement

Oasis Fashions are looking to recruit a Buying Coordinator on a year long placement to work with their Buying team in the Shoreditch Head Office, commencing summer 2018.

This is an exciting opportunity and has great prospects for someone who is interested in developing a career in buying and has a passion for fashion and retail!

The Role

You will be working within a busy buying department, supporting the Junior Buyers & Buyers in developing and sourcing the Oasis products.

You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks including:

  • Creating garment orders
  • Monitoring the critical path
  • Managing all of the fit stages
  • Sample and department co-ordination
  • A range of ad hoc administrative tasks to support the buying team

Experience & Skills necessary

This is a placement role, so we are ideally looking for someone who is in the process of completing a relevant qualification and are looking to gain practical industry experience.

Garment Technologist

Oasis Fashions are looking to recruit an experienced Garment Technologist for our team in our Shoreditch Head Office!

In this role you will successfully manage your own product department, ensuring fit and quality is fit for purpose and is consistent within Oasis.

JOB ROLE

Fit & Sealing

  • Drive and manage fit sessions with Buying and Design, highlighting any potential problems and offering proactive technical advice and cost effective solutions
  • Drive and maintain consistent fit across all products in line with Quality department minimum measurements
  • Drive and maintain consistent methods of manufacture in line with Oasis Golden Rules
  • Communicate fit and sealing comments effectively to Supplier in line with critical dates
  • Manage and deal with queries from the supply base
  • Engineer products for suitability and enhance cost and quality
  • Conduct Fit / Product Reviews
  • Build relationship with the Supply base and understand their capabilities
  • Support buying department to manage critical path deadlines.

Testing

  • Evaluate and approve Test Reports in line with Oasis standards. Make commercial decisions where necessary
  • Approve wash care labels for products ensuring consistency between care labels of the same product type/ fabric base/ range
  • Manage and assess wearer trials where potential problems have been highlighted and may be a risk to the business. Take appropriate action.

Specs

  • Assist Design with the initial specs/blocks for SR’s. Ensuring minimum measurements are adhered to
  • Ensure garments are fitted and sealed with efficiency. Least sampling (1st fit to seal process) with clear and concise comments sent to suppliers
  • Ensure measurements are consistent across all products and are in line with the minimum measurements
  • Support suppliers to ensure Spec measurements are consistently met adhering to Oasis guide to measure

SWOT & Projects

  • Manage project work on own area to ensure improvement of quality and assist in quality team projects
  • Make regular Store Visits to audit the quality of production and assess competition.
  • Collate SWOT reports for each supply base
  • Ensure supply base is familiar with Oasis Quality processes
  • Advise quality and buying teams of new developments and methods of manufacture
  • Update supplier manual for relevant area in line with other departments/competitors and best practice

Rejects

  • Assess customer returns, fit and quality feedback, write off information and take the relevant action
  • Manage rejected deliveries on own department and liaise with the Buyer, Quality team and DC

Personal Management

  • To be approachable and use effective listening skills to manage information. To know what and when to refer upwards and what to manage on own initiative
  • To seek ideas that change and improve ways of working
  • Visit Factory base when necessary
  • To set a high standard and challenge short and long term action points.
  • Build relationships with Buyers and Designers
  • Be able to adapt to departments needs and manage any change efficiently and effectively

International Assistant Merchandiser

Oasis Fashions are looking to recruit an Assistant Merchandiser for our International team in our Shoreditch Head Office

The role will assist in the planning & trading of own area using analysis and forecasting to ultimately maximise profit and limit risk within the department.

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for managing key International Franchise markets and supporting International Own Buy markets by working closely with the area managers and partners to trade the markets and drive sales to optimise profit for the Brand.

Key Deliverables

  • Build strong relationships with International Franchise Partners and Own Buy Managers
  • Planning, forecasting and weekly trading of own areas
  • Identify opportunities to drive trade and performance across International markets
  • Manage WSSIs for the markets responsible for
  • Liaising with Partners and answering queries

Head of Digital - Maternity Cover

Oasis Fashions are looking for a Head of Digital to cover a period of maternity leave in their Shoreditch Head Office. The Head of Digital will be responsible for the strategic development of Oasis’ digital channels ensuring the delivery of profitable growth, continued innovation and an ever-evolving, world-class customer proposition.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the digital strategy in line with business objectives and KPIs whilst maximising return on investment
  • Drive growth of active customer database with targeted marketing campaigns to drive new and returning visitors
  • Optimise digital KPIs across both UK and International websites by detailed analysis of onsite behaviours
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Trading team and Marketing team to drive trade decisions and ensure digital channels are an aspirational representation of the brand
  • Manage the digital roadmap driving continual innovation and delivering a world-class, highly competitive customer proposition

Leadership

  • Lead and develop the digital team, empowering them to create and deliver new initiatives and continual improvement of the customer proposition

Detailed responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Customer Director, set measurable objectives and trading strategy for both UK and international websites
  • Accountability for website P&L, seeking opportunities to improve EBITDA
  • Work with merchandising trade team and Customer Director to propose trading tactics to increase sales and profitability
  • Understand stock, sales and profit implications of any promotions and trading decisions and working with trading team to ensure stock levels are continually optimised
  • Work with Customer Director to conduct detailed analysis of ‘hot topics’ e.g. true cost of returns, market share and competitor analysis, how to implement ‘sprint’ methodology/approach within the team
  • Communicate and update business and teams on performance KPIs with clarity, focus and a winning mind-set ensuring ecommerce is integrated across all departments
  • Liaise with our Distribution partners and Customer Service provider to ensure the customer is receiving the optimum experience and work together with key stakeholders to drive new initiatives across distribution and customer services
  • Responsible for the overall relationship with 3rd parties including (but not limited to) our web platform provider, systems integrator, PPC and SEO agencies, mobile app provider and marketing platform partner.
  • Work closely with systems integrator to determine the development roadmap for the Oasis websites ensuring projects and releases are managed effectively
  • Leverage partnerships and internal teams to plan and deliver new omni-channel initiatives that build on brand desire to offer a world-class customer proposition
  • Overall responsibility for how Oasis brand is represented digitally across partner sites such as John Lewis, House of Fraser, Debenhams
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customer and her needs allowing this to shape the digital and omni-channel strategy drawing from and sharing with all areas of the Oasis business
  • Work with the customer insight team to gain insight into customer behaviours across channels and in turn drive decisions on digital strategic imperatives
  • Ensure customer insight team and customer services partner have a close working relationship and work collaboratively to solve common issues and drive optimum customer experience
  • Develop a clear digital marketing plan to balance retention and customer acquisition, utilising the latest online marketing innovations and staying abreast of developments within this area
  • Responsible for the end-to-end digital journey across all devices and in all channels
  • Work with Marketing and Trading teams to ensure homepage, features and emails are presented in line with brand expectations and are optimised to drive profitable revenues
  • Manage and oversee the launch of new campaigns and initiatives in line with the rest of the Oasis business, ensuring digital is constantly bringing new ideas to the table

Candidate profile:

MAA Placement

Oasis Fashions are looking to recruit a Merchandise Admin Assistant on a year long placement to work with their Merchandising team in the Shoreditch Head Office, commencing summer 2018.

This is a placement level role, with real prospects for someone who is interested in developing a career in merchandising and has a passion for fashion and retail!

About The Role

This role supports the product Merchandising team with all administrative tasks to ensure the smooth day to day running of the team. The MAA runs daily and weekly reports to update sales and stock information, and circulates within the team and to the wider business. They also participate in weekly and monthly meetings, pulling together all relevant reports and circulating ahead of time.

Key Deliverables 

Trading 

  • Responsible for updating and monitoring weekly intake and is aware of Distribution Centre capacities
  • Collates and distributes all reports across function a required
  • Utilises the auto delivery schedule to update the weekly sales stock and intake (WSSI) and has an understanding of its use
  • Has an awareness of the ‘open to buy’ (OTB) and its impact on the department
  • Is consistently aware of daily sales and updates team on current trade

Planning 

  • Produces historical analysis as required in preparation for planning
  • Updates and checks accuracy of all planning reports

Commercial /Trend awareness 

  • Is aware at all times of company and department targets and current trading and can contribute in a commercial discussion
  • Keeps abreast of commercial trading through regular store visits to both Oasis and competitors, lading the meting in the line manager’s absence.

Experience & Skills necessary

  • Strong administration and skills
  • Technical and numerical skills are essential, as the role requires a good knowledge of computer systems, especially Excel!

  • Ideally have experience working in a high street retailer (either on the shop floor or in Head Office)
  • IT literate with some excel knowledge

Online Trade Manager - Maternity Cover

This is an exciting opportunity for an Online Trade Manager to join the Oasis Ecommerce team to cover a period of maternity leave. 

 

Merchandising and Trading

  • Planning and reforecasting weekly sales based on e-commerce KPI’s across all own e-commerce and Host website markets
  • Analysing sales, returns, promotional reactions, delivery metrics at department and category level and reacting as necessary
  • Working closely with Finance and Product Merchandising teams throughout
  • Planning and managing e-com stock levels to maintain size availability and minimise terminal stock
  • Reporting on daily and weekly sales performance throughout the company, including Executive level at Trade
  • Trading stock levels to release or increase stock relative to how products are selling across channels

Digital Trading

  • Planning, reforecasting and trading the site based on Digital metrics including visits and conversion, abandonment rates, searches, online reviews, customer navigation etc
  • Working closely with Content team on Emails and Homepage using digital metrics to plan accordingly
  • Managing the merchandising of the site through our online platform Demandware, working closely with the backend systems of the website
  • Oversee the website enabling and sample process, ensuring products are on the site in a timely fashion and that product merchandising is optimised across all categories.
  • Summarising lost sales / areas of opportunity and acting accordingly
  • Work closely with the studio on ecomm shoots recommending styling and managing the no of products shot weekly
  • Manage Senior Trading Assistant, Trading Assistant and ecomm MAA
  • Work with Director of Digital on web P&L to ensure costs are being controlled in all areas.

Operational

  • Analysing all web dispatch metrics, reacting and planning as necessary to trade in the most profitable way.  Working closely with Finance and Executives at all stages
  • Working closely with the DC on all delivery metrics.  Analysing all aspects of delivery to improve customer satisfaction and monitor DC SLA’s
  • Plan full year and Quarterly web metrics with the DC at orders and unit level by Country
  • Analyse Ship from Store Metrics working closely with Retail operations to trade in the most profitable way whilst maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with Retail Assist looking closely at onsite technical processes and solving issues where necessary

Skills and Experience

  • Head office experience to merchandiser level
  • Advanced excel
  • Proven experience of budgeting and reforecasting, either stores or preferably e-com.

Visual Coordinator

 About the Role

  • Working alongside the Head of Visual this role will plan all window styling for weekly and window scheme launches and deliver through digital formats to the business 
  • Conducting research on current and future trends in design and lifestyle, to influence the visual merchandising/styling and interior creative
  • Works with the Creative Manager to align the standards of styling to the window schemes in store 
  • Works closely with the Communications Coordinator to align all communication sent to stores and partners through planning 
  • Proactively organises Stylefile teams and books accommodation for attendees 
  • Attends and supports Stylefile set ups proactively influencing trends and techniques alongside the Head of Visual 
  • Support on planning of new/refit Stores alongside the Head if Visual and Store Development team to communicate to Partners, Area Managers and VM trainers ahead of any openings 
  • Manages the VM requirements for each new opening or refit and works with P&L to ensure the density and options are achieved to reach sales targets 
  • Attends and works alongside retail and the Visual Team on new openings and refits, at times supports internationally when requested
  • Supports the International Department in Head Office with all VM and creative queries 
  • Coordinates any VM or Creative inductions for international partners alongside the Head Office international team 
  • Supports with licensing projects including Edge 

About You

Hair & Make-Up Artist - Oasis & Warehouse

We are looking for a Hair & Makeup Artist to join the Oasis & Warehouse studio team; the ideal candidate will be passionate about Hair, Makeup and Fashion, consistently aware of current trends and would be able to relate and adapt these to the Oasis/ Warehouse brand.

The Hair & Makeup Artist will be responsible for all Hair and Makeup looks across the Oasis and Warehouse websites, Ecommerce and creative, potentially working on Look Books and Campaigns.

This role will report to the Studio Production Manager.

  • Producing a high standard of Hair & Makeup that is brand appropriate, referencing the seasons catwalk trends and street style that would be relevant to the brands
  • On ecommerce days, producing Hair & Makeup looks for the model in the 1 hour allocated time slot, maintaining the approved look throughout the day and touching up after lunch
  • Understand and translate any creative changes quickly and with minimal disruption to the shoot
  • Responsible for Hair & Makeup kit- keeping an updated inventory, ensuring kit is kept clean and organised. Communicating any items needed to Studio Manager
  • Keeping an updated document with all approved Hair & makeup looks and suggestions for each model
  • Suggesting and testing new looks. Presenting ideas for creative briefs
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with the Shoot Leads, stylists, photographers and the brands; collectively deciding the most suitable looks depending on model and product
