Our store in Covent Garden has had a gorgeous make over giving us every excuse to head down there, so we thought might as well make it a whole day out and share our top things to do if you’re in that part of London for the day….
Rokit
42 Shelton Street
A vintage treasure trove just perfect for an afternoon rummage, stocking men’s and women’s wear from the 40’s to the 90’s. Often featured in magazines from Vogue to Dazed & Confused you can find everything from an authentic heirloom to a bargain one off piece.

Covent Garden Food Market
You will only catch this between 11am and 3pm on every Thursday but the week wait until the market next comes along is worth it! Stalls are lined up along the cobbled grounds outside the main market building serving champagne and oysters, vegetarian curries, obscure and unheard of cheeses, hand crafted chocolate truffles and more! We advise you take the afternoon off and lunch at one of the stalls with seating areas to people watch on a hot summer’s afternoon!

The Sanctuary
A gorgeous spa tucked away from the madness just perfect to unwind – one of the most famous features is a fabulous swing above the pool. If your feet are sore from all the pavement pounding then this is a haven of treatments to revive and relax you.
Patisserie Valerie
Any excuse will bring us to this amazing French patisserie for a cream cake, fruit flan or a chocolate éclair. A perfect afternoon stop off to recharge, we’d recommend the warm waffles with ice cream as a break from the norm!
Royal Opera House
Don something black and demure with diamonds and head to the Royal Opera House for an evening of elegance and drama. Steeped in history the Royal Opera House is a must night out at least once in your lifetime. Currently showing The Royal Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet we love this image on their homepage.

There may still be two more weeks until the dreaded V day but there’s already a lot of love in the air thanks to the third issue of Katie Grand’s biannual fashion bible Love Magazine which launches on Monday. Already a favourite with fashions’ bright young things, Love is set for world domination with this issue thanks to a series of eight cover options featuring naked shots of some of the world’s most beautiful women. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and the newly engaged Lara Stone are just a few of the stunners to have stripped off (ooh, what will Walliams say!) and they all, not surprisingly, look truly delectable. According to Grand, formerly editor in chief at Pop magazine, the idea behind the covers was to celebrate the difference in body shape and size amongst our most beautiful women and is a reminder that Love girls come in all different forms. Check out Love next week to see if you agree.

We have long been lovers of The Satorialist. Every day thousands of fashion worshippers check out the daily blog by Scott Schulman to check stolen glances at the fashion fabulous.
But today we found something else! A new blog has catapulted onto our radar courtesy of this week’s Grazia Barometer.
They have ranked The Catorialist in their Number One spot this week, and like them, we can’t resist! Mirroring the format and layout of The Satorialist we love the humour and of course the pictures of cute cats!
We were particularly taken by the below beauties!

On my walk into work this morning I was stopped and inspired by Bordellos’ latest window installation. A homage to Alice in Wonderland, (don’t forget Tim Burton’s film adaptation is due for release this March) it’s is also a cheeky reminder that Valentine’s Day is not far away, in-fact only a week away!
I especially love the oversized playing cards and although you can’t see it too well in the photograph one of the mannequins is holding a book titled ‘Croquet’…genius.
If your boyfriend needs a friendly Valentines reminder, dont forget our Oasis online gift vouchers.

Here’s a slightly worrying thought. According to the catwalks, and to Vogue, dungarees are set for a renaissance this season. 90’s girl-band meets Lauryn Hill meets John Boy from Little House on the Prairie with this casualwear trend - one which has long been a topic of debate as far as the style stakes are concerned. Brave enough to give it a try? Try taking the designer approach by teaming a simple denim style like Oasis’s Garnet dungarees with a girlie blouse and heels. It looks much better than it sounds, don’t you think?

While last week’s couture shows may not have presented us with anything we could ever dream of ever being able to afford, as always, they stood as an elegant reminder of an institution the fashion industry has come to adore.
From Chanel, to Dior to Givenchy - with each couture collection unveiled came a host of red-carpet-ready looks and a display of impeccable artistry, thanks to the designers at the helm of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses. On Monday, John Galliano showed off his equestrian take on evening glamour with a collection of sharply cut jackets, nipped duchess satin and top-hats and on Tuesday it was turn of couture King Karl Lagerfeld who blended the past with the future with metallics and sugary pastel shades. Other highlights came from Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy who sent a stand-out collection of black and white feather-detailed tailoring down his runway and also from the ever shy Jean Paul Gauliter who went all out on millinery with a series of super-sized hats.
Stunning. So….. who’s got a spare £25,000?

It was the comeback tour of last Summer, the grand finale of Glastonbury and the highlight of Hyde Park. And for all those fans that lived through the infamous Blur reunion tour of Summer 2009, they can now relive those moments again with the release No Distance Left To Run, a documentary film that charts this brief but epic comeback.
Directed by Dylan Southern and William Lovelace, the film charts their rise to fame in the early days, the troubled tour of America that led them to write the legendary Parklife album, and then there’s the album launch at Walthamstow dog tracks, when a young and excitable Blur contemplate as they begin the climb to superstardom.

Flash forward to 2009 and the boys are still the same. Starting with their hometown of Colchester they complete their first gig since the good old days, and then through to Rough Trade, a private gig in Brixton for friends and family, on to Glastonbury and then two smashing nights at Hyde Park.
We saw the film at the weekend and were totally drawn in - the Blur band members (Damon Albarn - Singer/Guitar, Graham Coxon - Guitar, Alex James - Bass, and Dave Rowntree - Drums) give exceedingly honest accounts of their feelings towards each other, their emotions, their ambitions, the stories behind the songs / albums, their personal lives, the split-up and the reunion. All of this is interlaced with great gig footage and behind the scenes “never seen before” footage that really draws you into the inner circle of the make-up of the band.
It is only showing in selected cinemas for a few weeks so hurry and catch it, otherwise wait for the dvd release to watch it time and time again!
Blur we salute you!

A very young and moody Blur!

Now they look happy!

I found these covers & bookmarks on Swiss Miss and can’t stop thinking about them! They were created by graphic designer and illustrator Igor “Rogix” Udushlivy. Roger describes his design ethos as ‘creating graphics with sense’, I just love the simple genius behind the whole idea.
